Pension and pay
All of our employees are eligible for, and are encouraged to join, the NHS Pension Scheme. This is acknowledged as an excellent final salary scheme, which includes life insurance and ill health retirement benefits.
Work/life balance
As you'd expect from a Trust with a philosophy of encouraging all of our employees to live and learn, we provide a variety of options aimed at improving peoples' working lives.
We are committed to flexible working and will try to accommodate individual requests wherever possible.
Flexibility policies currently enable full and part-time hours, flexi-time, job share, annualised hours, morning, afternoon, evening and night working, term-time only and school holiday working, compression (longer day, shorter week working) and self-rostering. These are all part of an evolving arrangement that will continue to change in line with patient and employee needs.
And when you need time off, we can accommodate a range of paid and unpaid leave, including, maternity, paternity, parental, adoption, career break, study, carer and, of course, annual leave. Annual leave is set at a generous 27 days per annum for new entrants to the NHS, rising to 29 days after five years and 33 after ten, so you really will have time to relax, unwind and enjoy some quality ‘you’ time to recharge your batteries.
Childcare

Your health and wellbeing
Because we know there’s more to life than work, and sometimes life isn’t easy or straightforward, we have made significant year on year investment to support the health and wellbeing of our staff. Our excellent Occupational Health service offers comprehensive pre and post employment screening, employment related vaccination programmes, infectious disease advice and immunisation, as well as counselling and post-trauma support.
All staff can take advantage of free annual flu vaccinations.
In addition all our staff and their families have access to our employee assistance programme, which provides 24hour telephone counselling and legal advice through a team of highly trained, specialist counsellors and solicitors. In addition each individual can access a number of face to face counselling sessions through the scheme with private, recommended practitioners with absolutely no charge to themselves.
